Third grade teacher Heather Hemeyer, class of 2008, isn’t just teaching math, reading and spelling at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D. She’s teaching children the skills they need to build a better tomorrow. She's also furthering her own education with Augustana’s Master of Arts in Education Online Degree Program.

Dr. James F. Krier, D.V.M., a long-time member of the Augustana College Board of Trustees, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25. He was a member of the President's Club and served as a leader for many Augustana fund drives, including the Commitment to Excellence, Augustana Renewal and Sunrise campaigns.
Dr. Susan S. Hasseler has been named senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. She most recently served at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. Her appointment marks the first time in Augustana's 151-year history that a woman will serve as Dean.
A performance of "Daughters of Africa," a music-driven history of the triumphs and accomplishments of African American women featuring Thomasina Petrus, will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, in Kresge Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
High school juniors and seniors, and their parents, are invited to join us for our Game Day visit. The event will include an overview of academic and student life, a campus tour, pre-game pizza, and tickets to the Augustana Men’s and Women’s Basketball double-header against U-Mary. You’ll gain some insight and take in some action.
The Eide/Dalrymple features Sioux Falls artist Linda Ackland-Kolb's unique pastel pigment on beeswax ground pieces in "Earth's Forces on Wax and Other Images," on display Feb. 1-March 3. A Gallery Reception and Artist's Talk are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10.
