    Auditions for Black Hills Playhouse to be Held at Augustana Feb. 14

    The Black Hills Playhouse in Custer State Park will be auditioning actors and interviewing technicians beginning at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Augustana's Edith Mortenson Theatre.This year the BHP will present "Run for your Wife," "Godspell," "The Drowsy Chaperone" and "The Three Musketeers."

    Former Augustana Trustee James Krier Dies at 82

    Dr. James F. Krier, D.V.M., a long-time member of the Augustana College Board of Trustees, died on Wednesday, Jan. 25. He was a member of the President's Club and served as a leader for many Augustana fund drives, including the Commitment to Excellence, Augustana Renewal and Sunrise campaigns.

    Hasseler Named Senior VP for Academic Affairs, Dean of the College

    Dr. Susan S. Hasseler has been named senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. She most recently served at Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. Her appointment marks the first time in Augustana's 151-year history that a woman will serve as Dean.

    More than 500 students from 62 teams across South Dakota will compete in the third annual South Dakota FIRST® LEGO® League Championship on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Elmen Center. The event will feature a special video tribute to Dr. Dan Swets, Kevin Anderson and Joshua Lambrecht, league leaders who were killed in a plane crash late last year.

    The 2012 OTA Sessions will feature 10 dynamic speakers, including Paul Adams, global brand experience manager at Facebook, and Jay O'Callahan, a master storyteller dubbed the "Mark Twain of our day." The event is set for Friday, March 23, in the Edith Mortenson Center Theatre.
